The tracks filling my head space this month
April has well and truely flown by! We’ve had some sunny warm days, and the lockdown has been lifted, and hopefully life now can slowly and safely begin getting back to some sort of normality. As always with my eclectic lists the music is varied, and genre hopping as ever, and this month is no different. We have chilled out beats, dancy numbers, ambient, orchestral, leftfield, indie and old school. As i always say there is a track or 2 here for everyone. This month’s list definetly has a higher tempo which i think has been influenced by the longer sunnier days, but not all that comes from the dance tracks, so keep an open mind and ears when you come to listen.
As alway, i can appreciate the list might be quite long, or perhaps you don’t have a spotify account. So to help i have included a Youtube playlist below, which boils down the songs, that are without doubt, in my opinion worth a listen:
Groove Armada – Langsame Marmelade
Jaws The Shark – Demon Dream
Eric Clapton – Behind the Mask
Mylo – Valley of the Dolls
Future Islands – The Moon is Blue
Pye Corner Audio – Ganzfeld Effect
Yonderboi – Pabadam
Paul Oakenfold – Hypnotised (Deepsky’s Radio Reaktor Remix Edit)
New Young Pony Club – Ice Cream
Gaspard Auge (Justice) – Force Majeure
George Strezov – Mo
This months list has records from the likes of Bonobo, Groove Armada, LCD Soundsystem, Eric Clapton,Royksopp, Mylo, Future Islands, Simple Minds, Paul Oakenfold, Unkle, Sting, New Young Pony Club and Pat Metheny to name a few. As i previously said the blend of tracks is definelty of a higher tempo, but there is some breaks which are more chilled, ambient and laid back, which will work no matter if you are jogging, doing the house work, cutting the grass, or driving with the windows down heading to the beach. As always i appreciate the playlist (see below) can be quite long, but if i have one suggestion for this one grab a beer, get the suncream on, hit the garden and dive in for full effect!
