ECLECTIC MIX JAN 21

The tracks filling my head space last month

A new monthly feature i’d like to bring to the blog, is to share my spotify playlist with all you lovely people. Hopefully this gives you some interesting new tracks to feast your ears on, and (without sounding too condescending) introduce you to some new bands, and perhaps musical genre’s you’d normally not come across, at least definetly not on the main stream radio.

As you’ll already know from my previous, Eclectic Mix 2020 article i am all about the random. I do listen to specific musical genre’s, and i hope to do articles in the future on certain ones, and i also like to do features on artists, but these Eclectic Mix’s will always be this, varied and different as a Haribo pick and mix! For me there isn’t anything greater (and completely different from radio) than when listening to music, you don’t know what style or type of music will come up next, helps keep it fresh. I’ve also include a few music videos of stand out tracks, that if you don’t have time for the whole list, then at least hear these!

Some sweet melodic Indie
Soothing ambient piano
Strong punchy guitar and vocal track
Rocky-indie, with a dash of electronica
Upbeat folky-celtic reminiscient of Fleetwood Mac

This months list features a whole host of different artists, Eric Clapton, Groove Armada, Bruce Springsteen, Queens of the Stone Age, Jean-Michel Jarre, David Bowie, Aphex Twin, Pet Shop Boy’s and Bent to name but a few. There is everything from rock classics, to retro lullaby’s, atmospheric and ambient pieces, slices of Indie, Electronica, Folky-Celtic numbers, and vocally driven pieces. The only thing missing this month, seems to be funk and rap, perhaps the cold-icy weather just has lead me to subliminially leave these out, but don’t worry i’m certain they’ll appear again in future installements.

So feel free to to indulge in the songs, keeping my mood afloat during this dark, cold month of January!!!
